Justification and Assessment
  • If making changes to the Student Learning Outcomes, please provide the updated SLOs in a numbered list format.
  • Rationale*
This course is primarily taken by Nursing and Community Health and Wellness students. Following discussions with the nursing and science advisors it became clear that the higher pre-reqs (requiring a B in biology and chemistry courses) was a barrier toward student progression. In many cases, students took Anatomy and Physiology at other institutions as transient students and were successful both in A&P and subsequently the nursing major. In addition, in instances where a student had a single C in one of the pre-reqs and the instructor granted an override, the students were able to handle the course content. Overall, reducing the grade requirements for this course will aid in student success, progression, and retention.
Modifying course numbers is not permitted. If this is a course number change you must delete the previous course and add the course under the new number.
